Greetings Loot Deviants! Ready to get your loot on? With the hosts of the Shattered Soulstone? Let us kick off 2012 (only 3 weeks in! -.-) with a raucous jaunt through the bastions of antiquity as we punch demons in the face! Or, preferably by shocking them to death!
Our very first Diablo Game Night will be going down Friday January 20th, 2012 starting at approximately 6pm PST (that’s wrong coast time Rilandune ^^) and last until the barbarians show up. Okay, that isn’t true but it will run until the looting is looted.
So what do you need to know to join us?
First you’ll need Diablo II (and Lord of Destruction if you want to be a
furry druid or assassin) and get it patched up to the current version: v1.13d.
Next, go download Mumble if you haven’t already. Once that is taken care of you’ll want to add the following IP address and port information:
The server is password protected and will be provided via our show twitter @ShatteredStone. This password will likely change at the conclusion of the evening as to keep the server “private” for when we need to use it. Once Diablo III is launched the server will be opened up to allow our community to prosper and give our listeners an avenue to communicate with one another while playing the game.
Once connected to the Mumble server the details of the private game name and password will be provided. This information will be included in the server message when you connect, but if reading isn’t your strong suit (I’m looking at you barbarians … wait, how would they be reading this now? I kid, I kid) feel free to ask in chat and the details will be provided.
Most likely we will be playing on the US East servers, but that detail will be ironed out and decided upon the night of. What is known however is that we (Nevik, Breja and Jen) will be starting with brand-spanking new characters and would advise everyone else to do the same. It’s not a requirement, just a preference so that we’re mostly on a level playing field and don’t trivialize the content.
Even if you don’t have Diablo II you’re still welcome to hop into Mumble and chat with us as that’s the whole point of our sanctioned game nights. Friends chattin’ it up about a game that we all love.
We look forward to looting with you!
